Henry Clay believed that the best way to open up trade and keep the economy going was to build a system of highways and highways to improve transportation between states. This is called the American system.

Hamilton's plan includes the creation of a national bank and a national loan to boost the federal government's power and credibility. Instead of allowing any state to repay its debts, he thought that all these debts should be taken together in a state that would be supported by the federal government.
