Definition of Time charter:

1. A charter securing the use of a ship or aircraft for a fixed period of time.

2. Transport vessel or vehicle charter for a fixed perod instead of for a certain number of voyages or trips. Time charter generally does not include loading and unloading costs in the charter rate. See also voyage charter.
