Programmatic [PA] - How To Discuss
Daniel Johnston
Programmatic [PA]
An ad type that uses an algorithm to determine which ad to place on which line items (using a real-time bidding model). Programmatic is mainly used for display advertising.
For example, an advertiser could set a maximum bid of $2 per click on a fishing site, and then that ad could advertise a bid for each fishing-related ad space served.
What is programmatic?
Basically, AP is a way to place your ad where your target audience is likely to see it without much time or effort. Does it look like magic? There is currently only one algorithm in use.
Special software finds websites (or other media) that your target audience can view or visit, searches for free advertising space and makes an offer (that you have predefined). If your bid is successful, your ad will appear on the site. It's so easy.
AP is one of the most effective ways to target your customers. You define the parameters of your target audience, indicate how much money you are willing to pay for advertisements and click the button.
Running profitable digital marketing campaigns goes way beyond auction management. Programmatic advertising allows you to reach potential customers through web ads, radio and podcast ads, billboards, and even TV commercials.
7 benefits of programmatic advertising
1. Greater campaign flexibility
As an advertiser, you have full control over your PA advertising campaign. This means you can cut your marketing efforts in half.
For example, if your audience settings have changed, you can change them immediately without spending days reviewing your entire advertising strategy. The program will do it for you in seconds.
The ability to change campaign focus and funding options helps you stay ahead of the competition and increase your brand awareness.
2. Reduce costs
By being able to dynamically target your ads to the right medium, you can significantly reduce costs. You can optimize your campaign (or let the program do it for you) with relevant data in real time. This saves you money on ineffective ads.
3. Save time
How long will it take your marketing team to determine the places your target audience is likely to visit? How much extra time do they spend negotiating the price of ad space? Is it difficult to change the settings during the broadcast without compromising the quality of the campaign?
All of the above efforts can be simplified with PA. You explain your needs and budget constraints, pay money and voila! Ads appear where they should, without wasting your time.
4. Reduce the risk of errors
How many guesses does your campaign contain? When it comes to ad placement, marketers have to make a lot of tough decisions that require guesswork to get average results.
With an automated PA campaign, guesswork is a thing of the past. Rest assured that your audience is well targeted without wasting time and money on inappropriate ads.
5. Maximum audience coverage
With programmatic advertising you increase brand awareness at lower costs. By having the program assess the advertising potential of a particular medium for your audience, you maximize your reach.
6. Perform real-time analysis
PA allows you to buy digital advertising space in real time. The software also collects and evaluates data when purchasing advertising space. You can gain valuable insights from the collected information to adjust your ads accordingly while the campaign is in full swing.
7. Analysis of market dynamics
When you use programmatic advertising, you gain access to data that shows the changing dynamics of the market. You can compare traffic, clicks, and conversion rates for quick analysis and response by changing your campaign settings.
