If you're looking to save a few bucks, the $999GB configuration has a new Core i5 processor, a larger screen, twice the RAM, but is limited by the clamshell design and Full HD resolution. The Pixelbook now has an older Core i5, half the RAM, a smaller screen, but a higher Quad HD resolution. They both have 128 GB of storage.

Does the Pixelbook go have a backlit keyboard?

The Pixelbook Go comes with up to 256GB SSD, there is no 512GB option like the original Pixelbook. The only way to test the keyboard is to type on it. Sadly, they haven't had a chance to use the Pixelbook Go's backlit keyboard yet, but Google promises it will be just as comfortable, but still quieter than the Pixelbook.
