Parameters - How To Discuss

Parameters
We often see dynamic parameters used for tracking. URL parameters should be avoided as much as possible because they can cause problems for search engine crawlers, for example. for example product=1234.
Meanings of Parameters
A value that has remained constant throughout an experiment, equation, calculation, etc., but has changed in other versions of the experiment, equation, calculation, etc.
A variable that describes a system (material, object, event, etc.) or some aspect of it.
An input variable to define a procedure that receives an actual value (argument) (formal parameter) at runtime.
The actual value assigned to that formal parameter (argument or actual parameter).
A characteristic or quality that sets something apart from others.
In an ellipse and a hyperbola, a third is proportional to each diameter and its conjugate value, and in a parabola to each abscissa and its corresponding ordinate.
The relationship of the three crystallographic axes that determines the position of each plane.
The basic ratio of axes for a given view.
Sentences of Parameters
Essentially, the set of arguments can be thought of as a vector and the set of parameters can be thought of as a covector (that is, a linear function). When a function is called, the tuple parameter is bound to the tuple argument so that the function instance itself can be evaluated for the value returned. This would be roughly analogous to applying a covector to a vector (using its point product (or rather, the matrix product of a row vector and a column vector)) to get a scalar.
The parameter of the major axis of the conical cone is called the straight width.
