Zhou Kai Alai Theoi!

In this book I read Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Book 1. Here he says that Grover had just taken the oath in ancient Greek. Whatever the meaning of the word, he swore to himself. I think Zeus mentioned Zeus and said you have a curse. What do you think

It is translated as O Zeus et al.

What does Kai mean in English?

Italian and Latin = 2 very different languages. The latter is the oldest English and Anglo-Saxon = much older than usual. English has gone through 4 stages in its journey: Saxon, Old English (or Old English), Middle English and Modern. Completely incomprehensible to each other. Ancient and modern Greek = easy now. They will understand better (modern Greek)
