The lethal dose of 50% melatonin in rats is 1600 mg per kg. The LD50 has no blast value for dogs. If dogs are more sensitive to melatonin than mice, very small dogs drink 3 mg vials of melatonin (eg 100 tablets) which can be a significant risk. A dog that eats 20 1mg tablets of melatonin will sleep well. If the dog is small or has high levels of melatonin, see a veterinarian right now.

And be more careful with continuous treatment. If it's a bottle of sleeping pills, an anti-depressant or antidepressant for high blood pressure, or an overdose of vitamins A, B, or D, your dog may have done it.
