Marie Callender's Coleslaw Dressing
Does anyone know the Colesla recipe for my calendar? 3
I know they have cabbage, chives and parsley, but what sauce do they use?
My Calendar Colesla Sauce:
Preparation time: 5
Cooking time: 5
Ingredients:
2 egg yolks
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon musk powder
1/8 teaspoon sugar
A pinch of red pepper
4 to 5 lemon juice or vinegar tea
11/2 cup olive oil or other salad oil
4 glasses of water
Preparation:
In a small bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, salt, musk, sugar, pepper and 1 tablespoon lemon juice until thick and light yellow. (Note: If using an electric mixer, beat in half.) Add 1/4 cup oil drop by drop, stirring constantly. Add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice and water for each tea. Add 1/4 cup more oil, a few drops at a time, stirring constantly. Add another tea to each lemon juice and water. Pour 1/2 cup of oil in a very smooth, even stream, keep stirring, then mix in the remaining lemon juice and water and mix gently with the rest of the oil. If desired, dilute mayonnaise with a little more water. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use. Do not store for more than 1 week.
