To update links automatically: 1) On the Tools menu, click Options and then click the Modify tab. 2) Clear the checkbox for Request automatic link updates. If unchecked, the links will be updated automatically without notice. This setting is only for the current user and affects all open workbooks.

How to remove external links from Excel?
