Elecare Vs Neocate
EleCare and Neocate formulas? 3
Have any of you tried EleCare or Neocate or both? What are your strengths and what is the difference between the two?
My baby is very allergic to milk / soy protein.
My baby is 5 and a half months old and she gave birth a week and a half ago in Neocate. After all, they just gupped. I have removed all dairy, beef, soy, wheat, eggs and chicken from my tea and she is still showing more severe allergy symptoms. It has a terrible gas that wakes it up screaming every hour, many times a year. This went on for months. Within an hour of trying the soy formula, her lips began to itch and bleed on her skin. We even saw a neurologist and he had an EEG (which fortunately didn't cause seizures) and we did an ultrasound of pyloric stenosis because we found out he had an allergy. Nothing worked, so the allergist gave us a 2 week trial with Neocate. In less than 24 hours he was like a new baby and in 3 days the gas was completely gone. After 12 days, the rash will finally disappear. Sleep is not much better, but it will get better soon.
We haven't tried EleCare, but Neocate is great. It's too expensive, too difficult. Buying directly from the company online is a bit cheaper (C 37 for a 14-ounce can compared to $ 47 on CVS). But if necessary, there is really no sting. I have heard that some insurance policies cover this, but I did not try. My baby used to drink bottled milk, but he used Neocate first. I tried it myself and I understand why. I had to mix it in milk for a few days but in a week I got used to it. Young children take it more easily. Whatever your choice, I can see that it works for you.
My daughter was on Alimentum and she did a great job, we didn't have to move to Neocate. But my step-son is using Neocate and that's what worked for him. She also has severe allergies and lives in 1. Now she can drink milk without any problem.
My daughter is 13 months old and still has a milk allergy, but she mixes well with silk soy milk.
To keep things going, allergies usually go away in 1 to 2 years. Formulas smell and taste bad, but they are cold and indifferent.

This may be because the content was paused for a specific time. Don't worry, your baby will get hurt, but he may be malnourished. I believe Elecare is a free amino acid. May contain sensitive material.
