Why don't some places accept Discover cards? 3
I don't have one, but I've been thinking for a long time.
Merchants pay a fee for each credit card they accept. Merchant Discover Card fees are treated differently from Visa or MasterCard. In the past, Sam's Club accepted Discover Cards and considered them as purchases, while Visa or MasterCards were considered as cash withdrawals.
In some parts of the country, Discover is not as welcome as elsewhere. I have traveled extensively in the south and east of the United States and have found only two restaurants that do not accept Discover. They don't even accept MasterCard, which makes them very unusual.
Places to explore
Discover and American Express are special card with high transaction fees that reduce corporate profits. Most merchants flag their trading accounts for this, opting for other ineligible cards.
Visa and MasterCard are generally accepted on the same business plan, Discover and AMEX have their own fee schedules and both exceed Visa / MC. Given the lower AMEX / Discover ratio than the other two, a trader may decide that it doesn't make sense to have two additional accounts.

Remember that whenever you swipe the card, the merchant / seller has to pay a fee to Visa / mc / Discover or American Express.
The same is true of Amex, which is not universally accepted.
If anyone knows of a restaurant that does not accept Discovercard because they think the fee is too high, please email them. I am in the card processing business and I can do so well that you recommended me this business. All I need is your name and phone number.
For this reason, some do not accept Amex, Visa or MasterCard. These are all payment options that the seller must accept. I only accept cash for something that saves money for me and my clients.
The seller believes that more Visa and MC cards are in circulation. Try to include the equipment needed for maintenance.
