Cellular Radio

Mobile radio describes a method of increasing the number of simultaneous radio calls that can be supported by a fixed number of radio frequency (RF) channels by limiting the range of transmitters to a single cell allocated a fraction of the available channels. Adjacent cells are assigned a different set of RF channels to avoid interference and call blocking. Frequencies can be reused within cells at sufficient intervals to avoid interference.
