Definition of Body type:

1. A type or class of physique.

2. The typeface used for printing the main text of a publication.

3. Typefont used for the bulk of text (body copy) in an advertisement, book, brochure any printed matter not including headline and subheadings. Often, serif fonts (from 9 to 12 points) are used for body type.
